Post Pox update 06/09/2008

As you might know Buster came down with Chicken Pox pretty badly recently. The kids of some friends of ours had it first so we made sure he spent loads of time with them so that he got a good dose - and did he! At one point he was more Pox than boy but thankfully he has come through now (I'm especially pleased as he can go back to nursery!) and is feeling much better. Just thought you would like to see the pictures of him feeling very sorry for himself a week or so ago. I've just posted some happier ones of him on Flickr to balance things out a bit.

I sense some deception here as to your justification for sitting on your arse while Lisa brings the bacon in:

And I quote: "As for 'work' - I cant reiterate enough that not looking after Buster from 8-5 every day and, maybe working in a bike shop with my mates, would certainly make my life a lot easier."

Now you are saying Buster is in nursery: "(I'm especially pleased as he can go back to nursery!)"

So, you aren't looking after him 8-5 every day then are you?

Get a job, you waster.

No JP - your right - I get 2 hrs on Mon, Tue and Thrs to do some shopping and hang the washing out.

I'm glad that I can act as some kind of vent for your own frustrations at having to work full time though, so please consider this free service still open - if you require any more in depth work-therapy then please e-mail me directly and I will send over a menu of services and costs.

Speaking of work - you got that garden finished yet - or has summer come and gone already?

"I get 2 hrs on Mon, Tue and Thrs"

Thats 6 hours then, get down your local Wallmart, Asda etc. I'm sure there will be some hours for you, you must be feeling slightly empty and hollow not being a contributing member of society, its been so long since you had a job.

Do they have supermarkets in N.Z that could employ you, or do they have some sort of bartering of goods and services system with the indigenous villlagers?

I spent all weekend building a wall actually. I rock, building is in my blood, Ron was right all along.

'I rock, building is in my blood', yeah, I always thought you would suit a yellow hard hat and some denim cut offs a-la the Village People. If you don't watch out you'll be a character in Dave Spikeys next sitom.

You might actually be of use to me John - which air valve do I need to stick more pressure in to stop my forks bottoming out so easily - was it the bottom one?

Anyway - must get gone, its tea and scones at the local organic lawn mowers society on a Tuesdays and its my turn to bring the jam.

And as I say to Lisa all the time - "don't hate, appreciate".

Bro - what's happening about the dog?? Are you still getting one - now would be a good time as it wouldn't be left home alone all day. Also what are you doing at Xmas, are you going to Wendys, if you are me and Tony will come over as well, but I could do with knowing asap xxx

The top one is the positive air spring, this determines the spring rate of your fork, i.e hard or soft.

The bottom one is the neagative spring, it affects how progressive or linear the fork is.

You can download a manual from www.sram.com if in doubt.

Talking of Moley, he broke his knee cap in two last weekend doing a motocross enduro., pillock.

OUCH - you think he would stick to MTB's wouldn't you! I cant remember a serious injury he has ever had from MTB but stick him on a motoX bike and he smashes his leg in two and then shatters his knee cap. Bet Gill is chuffed! Ah well, hope he gets better soon - was he racing Paul at the time or was it in the Dads race at the end of the meeting? Maybe Sean can give him a tip or two.

Howdy, can't contribute much about bikes. But can recommend dogs, although I might be a little late. Jack Russells are the best for temperament, intelligence and fair dinkum fun. And they're not too big, good with kids, fit in the car and easy to train. And no need to worry about fences either, because they'll just go under, over or through 'em. Cheers and hi to all, Garry

G'Day Gazza - yep, I also think a Jack Russell would be a good choice. Lisa thinks they might not be cuddly enough but for all round fun and easy care I think you might be right. Good to hear from you - how are things down under, or over the Tasman should I say now. Has big sis landed OK do you know - we have had a communications shut down since her flight left?

PJ - One strategy for getting Lisa on side is to hire Jim Carrey's 'The Mask' (purely for Buster's enjoyment, of course). The scene where Milo takes the keys off the guard is priceless - I thought: "if they can train a Jack Russell to do that, I'm sure I get it to sit or stay" (I was half right). There are also plenty of opportunities in the film to say something like: "How's the personality?", "So cuddly, eh?", etc. I suggest having the breeder's number preprogrammed into the phone too.

As for your big sis, yep, she's landed, but I think her gear has only just arrived, so she should be online pretty soon.

Kay - Usually the old man IS the gossip(chortle). e-mail is garry.taylor@paramountmining.com, but don't send through anything too crude, as I haven't worked out how to disable the e-mail security yet.
